Giving Back to Our Communities

Giving Back to Our Communities

In Smokey Mo’s 20 years in business, serving the wider community has always been an essential part of our company culture. Now, in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, it’s our daily creed. As the world changes rapidly and uncertainty heightens, we continue to strive to support our community in a variety of ways.

Frontline Support

Health care workers on the frontline are putting in long, hard hours today, some pulling extra shifts to care for patients – without even stopping to eat.

In an effort to show our appreciation, we’ve introduced our newest campaign, Mo’ Nation Donations. Smokey Mo’s is feeding those who work on the frontlines of our health care system. For example, we recently donated 300 individually wrapped meals to Christus Santa Rosa Health System Medical Center in San Antonio for distribution to frontline caregivers.

This is just one way we’re giving back to our local communities. Our Mo’Nation Donation initiative enables community members to sponsor a meal for workers most affected by the coronavirus. It’s an easy way for all who are “sheltering in place” to help from the comfort of home. All you need to do is go to our website, click on “Mo’Nation Donation,” and choose the dollar amount you’d like to give. We take care of the rest. No amount is too small, and all donations go directly toward sponsoring a meal. To date, we’ve donated over 1,450 meals to hospitals, law enforcement agencies, and more!

 Free Meals for Hospitality Workers

The hospitality industry is among the industries hardest hit by pandemic-related unemployment. At the beginning of April, we offered 40 free meals per store at our San Antonio, Boerne, Spring Branch, and New Braunfels locations to help hospitality industry workers impacted by recent events.  It was a successful initiative, and we were thankful for the opportunity to give back.

Family Specials

In strained economic times, we’re bringing more “bang for the buck” by offering several family specials throughout the month of April. With the purchase of an adult entrée, kids under 12 eat free off the Lil Mo’s menu. A Whole Chicken Family Special, complete with three sides, is available for just $25. And we’re discounting family packs 10 percent for a filling meal the whole family will love.

Order in through Uber Eats or Door Dash. Both offer a no-contact delivery option. Use our new ordering app for in-store or curbside pick-up. Or visit your neighborhood Smokey Mo’s for drive-thru service (available at all but our Stone Oak location).

In this crisis, we all have an important part to play. We are ever grateful to do our part in serving our customers – and those on the frontlines of care.
