The Pit's Been Lit Since 2000

A Texas family fired up the first Smokey Mo’s pit in Cedar Park in 2000. 25 years and 22 Central Texas locations later, we still smoke every brisket ourselves, in-house, low and slow over post oak.

Craft

Quality BBQ

Smokey Mo’s smokes all meats in-house, low and slow, every day. The same approach used by the destination BBQ joints people drive hours to visit, available at 22 locations across Central Texas and South Texas.

Friendly

And Fast

Classic Texas BBQ served without the wait. Dine-in, drive-thru, takeout, delivery. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The food is serious; and we serve it with a smile.

Real

Texas Neighborhood

Smokey Mo’s has been a genuine neighbor in Central Texas communities since 2000 — from school fundraisers to local festivals. Those who know, go to Smokey Mo’s.

Great BBQ starts long before it reaches the plate. At Smokey Mo’s, our meats are smoked fresh in-house every day over post oak, the wood that gives Central Texas BBQ its signature flavor. From brisket and sausage to turkey, chicken, and ribs, our process is built around time, smoke, and consistency. Mo’s signature rub is applied before the meat goes on to the pit to smoke. Guests can count on real BBQ when they get it from Smokey Mo’s.

How it started

The OG Smokey Mo

Yes! There is a real “Smokey Mo!” Smokey Mo’s founder Morris Melchor (aka Mo) and his wife, Lisa, realized their dream of owning their own restaurant when they opened the first Smokey Mo’s in Cedar Park, Texas in 2000. With 30 years of experience in BBQ restaurants, Mo brought excellent food and a commitment to community and family to his BBQ business. Over the years, all five of Mo’s sons worked at Smokey Mo’s and they proudly supported local schools and teams, which we continue today.

You can taste Mo’s original spice rub and sauce recipes in every bite of Smokey Mo’s (or pick up a bottle to take home) and his legacy of hard work, commitment to community, and treating guests like regulars is key to Smokey Mo’s continued success.

Your product is outstanding and has been super consistent as well as competitive and better in taste than other BBQ shops.
